Plan to keep food fresh - Arctic Ice and AO Coolers

Over my years i've learned a few things. One is "fail to plan, plan to fail" another is "always have a back up plan"

Our family obviously doesn't have the same 9-5 mentality that has become the norm in our generation. We know that without a doubt we will be on the road for 6-8 months out of the year. Even when we get to go home there is always that possibility we might get called to go here or there for ministry or fishing. The best part of all the uncertainty is we have all become very good at planning and surviving crazy times.

One of the most crucial parts of our family road life is food. Sometimes i feel like our family revolves around it more than anything else. So knowing that in advance, we always have to make sure we're packing enough food for five and keeping it as cold as possible.

Most times you will find three AO coolers in our truck for three very different purposes.

1st, the AO Cooler with Arctic-ice Chillin' Brew for most of our road food. This keeps everything refrigerator cold without all the freezer burn. We use it for anything from sandwiches, fruit, drinks, yogurt and even condiments for sandwiches. We know our three kiddos are going to open this cooler 100 times along.the way, but thats ok because there is nothing too crucial to go bad.

Second, is a slightly larger AO Cooler with either Arctic-ice Chillin Brew or Alaskan series freezer packs. This is for all the cold food (not frozen) meats, dairy, leafy vegetables as well as other things we will need to cook with. This cooler will stay closed and maintain a temperature close to that of a refrigerator, keeping everything nice and fresh.

Last but not least is our on the road freezer. For this we use a medium size AO Cooler and Arctic-ice Tundra series. This works to keep everything frozen, even up to keeping Ice cream and popsicles cold for hours. Perfect for ice cream at the beach or on a local lake. In the road this gives us the ability to keep all our frozen goods frozen until we reach our destination.

So no matter where we go, our AO coolers and Arctic-ice are always with us.
